Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert from the US state of Colorado tweeted on Thursday: “The easiest way to make the Delta variant go away is to turn off CNN. And vote Republican.”

She quickly deleted the tweet after it received backlash.

The Delta strain of Covid-19 has devastated communities worldwide, including India, where millions were infected and an estimated four million people died. The song has since spread to dozens of countries, including China, Australia, and the US — and has not spared Boebrt’s state of Colorado. In contrast, many as 50 percent of new cases are infected with the Delta variant.

Colorado Democrat Steven Woodrow responded to Boebert’s tweet by saying it “proves once again that stupidity has a champion in Colorado”. Respondents noted that people in Colorado were suffering from the Delta variant of covid while she was questioning its very existence. In it, author Dana Milbank wrote: “The QAnon-admiring first-term Republican congresswoman from Colorado has tried everything to get noticed. She has attempted one stunt after another since she burst on the scene by tweeting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s whereabouts during the Jan. 6 insurrection. “In the past couple of weeks alone, she falsely claimed that liberals ‘l legalizedknowingly spreading HIV’, asserted that her election ‘is certainly a sign and a wonder, just like God promised,’ attacked a trans woman weightlifter with the message ‘Welcome to the Woke Olympics’ and declared that ‘Critical Race Theory is now mainstream. But she has languished as
a poor man’s Sarah Palin and a third-rate Josh Hawley, as others seize the spotlight with superior antics.
